bye bye binky | a short film | bay area baby photographer

a little something i put together. enjoy!

Bye Bye Binky from angie warren on Vimeo.

blissmamaof3 - Aww! That was really cute. My youngest asked for a paci last week, hasn't had one in years. It's tough to say goodbye.

Erica - I think that my little guy will do better then me! It seems like one of those last little BABY things he has.

Stephanie Wind - Very cute Angie! We just finished with our "passy" with my 17 month old. He's been passy free for about 2 weeks now - so there is hope! (Of course, there are definitely times, like when he is screaming his head off, that I wish that darn passy was still in use!)

Danielle - Hilarious!

Tammy Chavies - Angie, that was awesome!! What a great idea and I love the pictures of course too! This will be something to treasure forever!

samantha - Too cute. Bless him, its so neat how the smallest things soothe our little ones. :)

Kim - Oh my goodness! That is a riot, I love it! I'm putting it off like crazy. Maybe her husband will make her get rid of it?

Heather Kelson - I LOVED that video!! great stuff... We always wait until the 2nd birthday... a week or so before "the day" we talk about how all the paci's are going bye bye forever and then on the morning of the birthday (before the festivities begin) we all wave good bye to the paci's in the plastic bag as daddy takes them out the door (they go in the outside trash bin though the kids don't know that) and we talk about how brave we all must be, how we will miss them but it is for the best and time for us all to be a big girl/boy! After 3 kids (one more to go) we haven't had any of them desire them back... they just kind of move on... I guess since they leave the house, the kids don't think they are coming back. Extra snuggles are always available as well as the fav. blankey to help ease the longing. I hope this doesn't sound cruel. But it has worked for us, maybe it can help another mommy out there :)

Mindy W - Awww!

Stephanie - Oh, that was so funny! The song, the title, too much!

humbled & inspired | bay area friend & photographer

a few months ago i wrote about a dear friend who had just been given some life-altering news. fast forward to today, she is one of the strongest women i know – fighting a fight in her own, powerful way. she is amazing, she inspires me, she is a constant in my thoughts and prayers. i enjoy following along the journey she is traveling, and tonight as i logged on and began to read her heart – i was paralyzed. sitting in my chair, having had a less-than-stellar ‘mom day’ with my kids, finding myself ever frustrated with the things that came at me all wrong. what a selfish, thoughtless person i was today. what a humbling night i’ve had thinking about her words. with her permission i am sharing with you, in hopes that you too will take a second to think about others. to retrain your mind and your heart. and to my sweet friend, you’re a blessing to me, love you to pieces. xoxo, ang

JaimeM - oh wow, what an incredibly touching post. thank you for sharing. definitely, a very important reminder.

andrea - thank you both for sharing. i often stop to think about those around us and realize life is not always as it appears to be on the surface. I will have you, Diana, & your family in my thoughts and treat others kinder as a result.

a few things… sorry that the settings are literally the same. i looked through to see and nope, i didn’t change it up at all except to shoot at f /1.6 for an image or two. this family had gorgeous light, which i remembered from evey’s newborn session. with a 4 month old who can only roll over i wasn’t scrambling to capture a quick toddler, so it was easy to stay at the settings i was at. perhaps sometime i’ll do this with a different type of session, i know just last night on formspring someone asked about backlighting so that might be next up in a ‘behind the camera’ post. anyhow, hopefully this helps rancher’s wife! if anything you get to see darling evey once more. happy thursday!
