thanks, I'll be in touch soon!

sorry, please try again.

a first of many.

the first haircut happened this evening. big brother was 9 months old for his first cut, and if you know him, you know he isn’t a fan of getting a trim ; ) we’re perfectly fine with that and we love his crazy mane. little brother on the other hand, well lets just say he was heading down a dreary path – the mullet. we have seen it coming for weeks now, and i kept saying “we need to take care of this…” well tonight my dad came over and did just that. little brother did alright, and just as i knew would happen, i can’t stop staring at him. he looks older, a bit thinner, and all i can think about is that we just cut off the hair he had when he was born. the very first hair, he ever had on his head now rests in a tiny baggy in his room. i realize the inevitable shall happen, my babies will grow. selfishly, i’m just not ready! so much change so fast. i want to bottle them right up, just as they are. sigh, alas i must accept the truths.

i am proud to say i documented this milestone much better than his brother’s. it was late afternoon with not much natural light, so i was hanging out at around iso 2500. but guess what? i love it! i love the texture of the grain, i love the dirty feel to it. it’s natural, it’s perfect, and it’s a day, a moment i want to remember.

Stacy Krager - I agree - the noise gives it a REALLY cool mood! Hailey's first haircut is not too far off...I didnt' realize until you wrote it, but she is on her way to a mullet!! But every time I think about it, I think the same thing - that is the hair she was BORN with! I can't cut that off - she's still a baby! :(. I can only hope to document it as well as you did! Love his big, expressive eyes :).
