animal dominoes.

my grandmother was in town for a week. visits from out of town family seem to go so quickly, and this was no exception. the boys absolutely loved having “neenie” around and i was quite spoiled with all the attention she gave them. a little certain someone had a playmate just about 24/7, and as you can imagine he took full advantage of this. when i saw my grandmother pull animal dominoes out of her luggage my mind went back to a simpler time. twenty-something years ago, when she and i would sit on the floor together playing the old wooden game. big brother caught on quickly and animal dominoes became a daily ritual. just seeing that old box, held together by rubber bands (as it has been now for years) warmed my heart and became a beautiful gift i was able to unwrap each time those wooden pieces fell to the floor.
