beach bums.

my brother was in town for a week. it has been 2 long years since we’ve seen him and though many miles and many years separate us, he’ll always be my baby brother. a little certain someone (ahem) is quite smitten with uncle joel – and can you blame him? he has a snake, 2 ferrets, 3 birds, and a cagillion fish. he’s totally-almost-basically a walking ad for animal planet. what 4 year old wouldn’t like this guy??

they spent lots of time exploring and exchanging favorite memories (most were made up and so funny), and just getting re-aqainted. big brother loved it, and was visibly saddened tonight as he said his goodbyes. bright and early uncle joel heads back home, leaving behind a little sidekick with a new stack of moments to hold tightly to.

insert our beach trip. probably his fave activity with uncle was our beach adventure over the weekend. northern california never fails to change things up on us… so when the weather confirmed 75% chance of rain and high winds – we went prepared for, well, just that. instead we were blessed with a gorgeous day, warm and breezy. we spent many hours playing in the sand (well some of us did), laughing, and listening to as many “did-you-know-facts” as my brother’s itouch application had for us. it was awesome, and i’m so glad we did it.
