i’ve been ridiculously excited for this session, and after many re-scheduling issues we were finally able to make it happen – less than a week before they moved out of state. with three little girls under the age of two, these incredible parents have it down with grace and patience and so much love. i left our time together with hugs and kisses and a smile on my face.

family sessions typically have more images, especially with really little ones like these girls. so i will be honest that it was really tough to decide which to share with you all. i’ve decided to keep some really special ones for mom and dad only – but you must feast your eyes on these gems. olivia, summer, & charlotte – it was a pleasure!

hiking.

my not-so-little brother is here for his yearly visit – the 3000 miles that separates him from the rest of “us” can be lonely and we are all so excited to have him around for the week. no one more excited though than our danny. he reminds me so much of uncle joel in his love of nature, silliness, and simple traits day to day – it is always quite fun to see danny just awe at him when he’s around. only fitting it seemed that we go hiking up mt diablo this weekend. together they caught a lizard, snake, and attempted some tarantulas.

if you know me at all, you’ll know how i loathe pulling my camera out during the mid-day. of course i do (mostly indoors or i’ll find good shade), but the top of the majestic mt diablo gave us very little room around it. i cringe having to shoot anything less than wide open and curse the sun shadows. but let’s face it. not all of my day to day images can be taken during the golden hour, or with perfection. and does that really matter, really? one of the items on my summer list was to take a million photos. i’ve started that out right. harsh sun or no, these are cherished memories and i love them to pieces.

if you follow me on facebook or twitter you’re most likely sick of my play by play as i venture through the twilight books. i can’t help it. they have sucked me right in and i can’t get out. a bit of our hiking today tangled us through some dense forest area, thought the sun shone a bit brightly for a vampire’s taste, i couldn’t help but get lost in imagination… so when we got back down from the mountain i helped myself to a bit of eclipse. why, you know you would have to!

i awoke to gorgeous skies and made my way to ann & jeff’s house. inside was a family filled with so much love, i immediately felt at home. i’ve been looking forward to this session for some time, the chance to capture this precious family was an honor and blessing for me. darling liam is currently awaiting confirmation of a bone marrow transplant that is needed, after a long battle with hlh – to which his darling mama describes as a “revved up autoimmune-style blood disease”. what a little blessing he and his big brother are – full of smiles and sweetness, strength and courage. silva family, – thank you, thank you. prayers & love!

say hello to j & c. at just one week old are just the sweetest little boys, so adored by their big sister and loving mama and dad. we worked to get them sleepy, at the same time – and oh it was absolutely worth it. seeing these two together was a sight to behold; they loved to eat away at each other, and found such comfort in the touch of the other’s skin. the beauty of this is really beyond words. i’ve been just itching to share these images, and what a better day than thanksgiving – s family you were a joy, i appreciate your warmth and patience and can not wait for you to see the entire gallery.

this was one of those sessions i couldn’t help but smile the entire time i was proofing. i would come upon a precious image only to find the next hit me as better… when stephanie contacted me about family photos she mentioned she loved photography, little did i know i would be shooting for such a talented up & coming artist. i am so excited to see where she takes her gift and am honored that they chose me to capture their adorable little family.

wow it has been a long week for me and it’s only wednesday evening! early monday morning my laptop crashed on me – talk about scary. thankfully i am an obsessed backer-upper, still pretty much frightening. after many hours of worry and impatience on my part (oh yes tis true) i heard back from my insurance company and am back up & running! i am quite behind so if you are waiting on a reply from me, sneak peek, or gallery i do appreciate your understanding!

the a kids were so sweet to sit for me, giving their darling mother some beloved images – we had a great time and i’m so thankful for laura’s mentoring and friendship in my own life. say hello to c and e.
