i feel like i’m walking on sunshine. if you’re a photographer reading this who has an online portfolio, you know all of the work that goes into building, keeping up, or making over a website and/or blog. my tired eyes and lack of sleep are well worth it… i’m thrilled to unveil a bit of a makeover to angie warren photography. that’s right, click the image below or right here to feast your eyes (but be sure to click back for the six-day-only special)!

glad you asked! the artist in me needed so desperately to get back to the roots of my own personal journey in photography. i’m easily sidetracked, and found myself not feeling comfy in my online-presence-skin. i love the clean, fresh, simple feel to my new site. i absolutely adore the big images, and all the new options that come with a brand spankin’ new design. it’s as if i fell asleep and have been woken up by the freshest breeze imaginable. spring has sprung and i’m all over it. clients, be sure to check out the vendors tab for some fabulous places to shop for clothing – photographers you’ll know what to do, check it all out!

so very lovely, made from love. though i have photographed her many, many times this past year – we finally set out for the official senior photos. shooting this girl is like a dream. she knows me, and my style. together we fit like a glove. i barely have to do or say a thing and she is glowing and radiant: standing right where i need her, doing just what my artist heart is wanting. how amazing for two visions to collide, and in my opinion, crafting a senior photo session made in heaven.

to my most beautiful and incredible baby sister: lots of love.

eighteen years ago i entered my fourth grade classroom to find flowers on my desk. the card read “congrats on your baby sister”. and so she was. born as my sister, grew as my friend. she is my muse, my mini-me, she is wiser than she knows. she was raised on classic rock, has a free spirit, and lights up the room when she enters. up for most anything, creative, and loving – you can’t help but adore her. a decade ago or so on her birthday, a girlfriend of mine and i took her and a little pal of hers out for makeovers, did their hair, and treated to dinner. now she is the one who can do the same for me (and i secretly expect it this year) ; )

the quote above was shared with me during a conversation with my friend & fellow photographer marta, which i’m pretty sure was sparked by the incredible artistry and mind of deb. it’s heavy on my heart this evening and as i revisited it this polaroid of my sister came to mind. am i pushing my light to shine? my sister, on the brink of the rest of her life… is she allowing her beauty and spirit to soar? or do we cower beneath the covers; shrinking out of fear, kindness, or the like? even in small doses, this light needs to be seen. because really, why hide anymore?

seniors are just so much fun, and a was no exception. we met in downtown walnut creek, explored for light and texture, and fought the holiday shoppers off with a vengeance! she and her fabulous mom were up for anything and so patient with me – we laughed, enjoyed starbucks, and had a really great time. we chatted about her school (same one i graduated from) and her plans for the future. look out new york / fashion world – a is going to rock your socks off!

wow it has been a long week for me and it’s only wednesday evening! early monday morning my laptop crashed on me – talk about scary. thankfully i am an obsessed backer-upper, still pretty much frightening. after many hours of worry and impatience on my part (oh yes tis true) i heard back from my insurance company and am back up & running! i am quite behind so if you are waiting on a reply from me, sneak peek, or gallery i do appreciate your understanding!

the a kids were so sweet to sit for me, giving their darling mother some beloved images – we had a great time and i’m so thankful for laura’s mentoring and friendship in my own life. say hello to c and e.

their sweet mama got in on a few and i loved this one… mostly because of the reason they are giggling ; ) enjoy your sneak peek a family and thanks for your patience with me!

just sharing a little something from a big something i’m thrilled to be apart of - the marta locklear workshop. i can’t rave enough about it, in just the first week my creativity has evolved and my eyes opened to new and exciting things. marta is offering an in-person workshop coming in october, and she has another online workshop scheduled for november. i highly suggest getting your spot as they won’t last long!

s’s sweet friend c was visiting from delaware recently – and we planned her senior photos during her trip out here. she’d never done any sort of lifestyle photography before, so it took some getting used to for her ; ) in the end we had bunches of fun – tomorrow i’ll share some of the fun shots we got of both of them together!
