do you see what he sees | five year old photographer in training

i’ve shared a few of his photos with you before. imagine my delight to find these precious gems on my camera this week. he has taken a liking to “atography” (no matter how many times i correct him he says it the same way, and i quite adore it!) over christmas after much pleading and begging i introduced him to my dslr. fear not he has a tight grip and carries her like the delicate gem she is. my boy takes the time to focus, shoot, check, focus again, shoot, check. that’s right, he’s a photographer’s child. never did i pressure him with it or ask him to pick it up, he simply does, and i simply love it.

i have those first photos from the holidays to share with you soon – but had to get these up tonight. welcome to a typical day in our lives; laundry overflowing, remnants of breakfast on the couch, and a toddler in the same clothes he had on the day before. my young muse shot what he saw, imperfections and all, because really that is our every day. i brought these strait from lightroom, (because as you know a child of mine shoots in RAW) and re sized. no processing whatsoever. how pure and innocent would they be if i did my thing? what a lesson he’s taught me without even knowing it. i think i’ll have him do this more often….

Laura - Adorable looking through his eyes. My little gal D has her own photo album full of the pictures she's taken. She's getting quite good, her dad told her that I need to start paying her when she assists me at shoots. LOL

Kelsey - How precious is that! Thanks for sharing! I think you will have a helper soon :)

Mom - He is amazing, that grandson of mine!!

Nikky - I think it's wonderful! I planned on letting Jr loose with the camera in about 3-4 years (basically the next time his dad deploys- which won't be till we move again) so he can share his world with his dad no matter where dad is :) keep shooting D!! Your obviously got your mama's talent!

stacy k - what precious gems those are ;)

Mindy - So sweet! Quite talented too! We gave Myles a child's digital camera for Christmas and I just downloaded all 300 pictures he has taken so far. It sure is fun to see what they come up with.

aileen - i meant to comment on this yesterday. it was one of my 15 open tabs! :) this is lovely. my 2 oldest daughters both got P&Ss within the past couple months. i\'m downloading their very-filled cards today. can\'t wait to see. now, using my old dslr, that i should have them try! great idea!
