thanks, I'll be in touch soon!

sorry, please try again.

i am what i eat – angie warren – bay area photographer

since parting ways with the creative mama, i’ve had high intentions of taking bits and pieces of my writing from there and blending it in with my photography here. well, you may say i’ve failed – but the truth is i’ve been so busy i haven’t made the time.

all that is about to change. this being my little corner of the internet for friends, family, clients, and fellow photographers – i have some great ideas in the works and look forward to building a community among those of you who visit me here.

something i’m excited to share with you is a big change i’m making in myself. i’ve just finished reading an eye-opening book by gillian mckeith, you are what you eat. as a former weight watchers addict, i found myself able to lose weight and fit into those delicious size 4s – but ultimately i’ve not taught myself any good eating habits. now after baby #2 and ahem, not fitting into size 4s any longer things are going to change. seeing said bad habits passed along to my boys is enough to make me ready to tackle this, not to mention my own feeling sluggish and tired, unhealthy, and a list of other issues i’m ready to beat!

i shared my new-found goodness (aka: the book) with marta recently, and together we have committed to making a change in ourselves and our families. marta is blogging about her own unique journey in cleansing on her photography blog, be sure to check in with her as well!

so what is my plan?

well one of the biggest things will be a change in what i am putting into my body. those of you who know me, know my slight obsession with the nearby starbucks. that’s right, no more for me. at least not for the next month. cutting it out is #1 priority. of course along with this comes the daily diet coke. i’m not saying this will be easy or fun. but i’m committed.

i’m really going to be mindful of the foods i’m bringing home for my family. where do they come from? how beneficial are they for us? there are so many incredible recourses for recipes and ideas – i can’t wait to dig in and share with you all! so, i’m hoping you’ll keep me accountable as i share this journey with you all. and if you’re down for it – join me!

Stacy - Wow Ang! That\\\'s awesome! I\\\'m so excited for you! Cutting out Starbucks huh? good luck! I might join this journey with you and Marta! :)

Julie O. from iV - Cutting out caffeine (mainly Starbucks) for me was really hard - but I did it during my pregnancy when I was put on bed rest - so it was hard not having it but it wasn't hard staying away from Starbucks since I wasn't allowed to get out of bed haha. Then after the baby came - reflux, colic, and all - I started up the habit again and it helped me get through a year of severe sleep deprivation....then I got cancer. ;/ So...I guess you can say that I learned the hard way that we definitely are what we eat/drink/do. I wasn't taking care of myself. Everything is different now...totally organic, no caffeine, mandatory rest, etc. Not only are we worth it, but our kids need us to be healthy. So, I'm happy to see you've figured this out before it's too late. :) Best wishes on your game plan - I'm sure you'll do great! Love, Julie

Patty Reiser - It is amazing the difference you will feel not drinking starbucks and sodas all the time will do. I stopped soda completely about 2 weeks ago and have lost 5 pds. I save the starbucks for special treats once in a while. Wishing you a scent-sational day! Patty

andrea caballer - I'll be picking up that book, I just read Food Matters, an eye opening book about our food and its effect on our world. Looking forward to following your journey. Good luck!
