styling. my artistic side jumps with joy at the thought of this. not only do i get to “do my thing” behind my lens, but being able to really craft the session from start to finish is incredible. i was honored to photograph a fellow photographer, rachel goerke this weekend, and when she asked me to come in and create something totally unique for her, all i could think was ‘um yes please’!
styling isn’t something that is done with just adults, i’ve styled children’s sessions as well! the shoot this weekend involved delicious colors, textures, and the trust of the client in me to ensure a gallery of gorgeous images.
what is styling exactly?
- rachel came with 3 outfits, layers and a color story just perfect for the crisp fall weather! we laid them all out and i was able to put together some amazing ensembles that would both flatter and enhance. from scarves to hats, to fun leggings and more.
- next came makeup, this isn’t something i would do with children of course – but it was fun for her to get fancied up a bit!
- hair of course.
- as with all of my sessions we chose a fabulous location – but this was really specific, i had a vision in mind and she had full confidence in me to bring that vision to life.
