watch your pockets – east bay area photographer

when i’m in the moment, shooting behind my lens, the world is typically at a standstill. i don’t carry a shootsac anymore so my pockets are stuffed with keys, cf cards, batteries, and my beloved but silent iphone (aka: tori spelling, yes i named her). during a recent session i stood up from my twisted stance to get the shot, only to realize tori spelling was no where to be found. i was surrounded by what felt like miles and miles of dead, sharp, weeds. the darn thing was on silent for my session so how on earth was i to find her?

then off in the distance, shining like a beacon from the glare of the setting sun, she was laying there. sort of… waiting for me ; ) so photography friends, watch those pockets!

phone (1 of 1)

jayne - The iphone is a beacon! lol

Jaime F - ya know what i love about this pic? the tiny chutes of new grass sprigging up from below the dead weeds. way cool pic! i have been trying to come up with a solution for the junk i hafta carry around too....the total practical nerd side of me is tempted to get a little canvas tool belt to hold lenses and keys and phone and filters and such. i KNOW i will look like a total fool, but i hate carrying around that HUGE padded bag. we'll see if fashion or fool wins.

Carrie Hasson - It's as if you dropped a psychic pin lol...glad you found it, I would have been freaking out!

nicole - I lost my phone on an e-session last summer. Luckily someone found it and turned it into the park office. But usually I lose my lenscaps. That\'s what happens when your caught up in the moment LOL.

jessica - i hate the feeling of losing my phone...and yet i do it all the time around the house. i have to use www.wheresmycellphone.com atleast once a week. i'm glad tori is safe and sound.

beth - this is why I've learned to leave my phone in the car....once you have that panic attack in the field in the middle of nowhere....well, that's enough for me. and when it's on silent...talk about feeling screwed !!...it's happened to most of us at least once...ummm....or twice..... so glad you found it....luck was with you that day :)
